JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — The Johnson City Police Department announced criminal charges for three suspects who were involved in the stabbing of a 16-year-old Thursday evening over a “social media dispute.”
Police identified the suspects as Tyheem Jordan; 18, Luke Lucas; 18, and a 17-year-old male. All three of them are from Binghamton.
Officers responded to the area of Harry L Drive and North Harrison Street for a report of the stabbing and found the teen. He had stab wounds to his head and back. Responding officers assisted with rendering medical aid to the victim while other officers canvassed the area. The 16-year-old victim in this case has received treatment for his injuries and is in stable condition.
Police said an officer was speaking with subjects in the area when he noticed Jordan throw a jacket into a vehicle. The officer looked into the vehicle and saw a small handgun near the jacket. Jordan was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and attempted assault in the first degree. Both charges are felonies.
Police noted that the handgun was discovered to be a loaded 9mm ghost gun, which is a weapon that is composed of parts bought online or has its serial number removed, making it hard for authorities to track. As this was taking place, detectives were observing video from a nearby business of Jordan chasing the wounded victim with the firearm.
Police said officers went to Lucas’ residence in Binghamton and arrested him after he was developed as a suspect and charged him with attempted assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree. These charges are felonies.
Then, on Friday morning, police arrested the 17-year-old suspect at his residence. He was charged with the felony of attempted assault in the first degree. He was also charged with the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
Binghamton and Vestal police assisted with the investigation.
