19th annual Cherokee Art Market kicks off in Tulsa with over 160 artists

The19th annual Cherokee Art Market returns to Tulsa today, Oct. 12, and tomorrow, Oct. 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

More than160 Native American artists representing 45 federally recognized tribal nations will feature their art at the market.

The market also held competitions that awarded more than $75,000 in prize money.

This year’s Best of Show went to“Caddo Story of the Flood” by Caddo Nation citizen, Chase Kahwinhut Earles.

Earles’ piece is atraditional southeastern tribal-style pottery made with hand-dug clay and freshwater muscles.

Additionally, theCherokee Art Market held a youth competition.

Six winners were announced in the youth competition.
