IFAM NEWS RELEASE
The 21st annual International Folk Art Market (IFAM) is July 10 through July 13 in Santa Fe’s Railyard Park.
IFAM staff are working diligently on this year’s market, the annual Artist Conference, and a robust roster of events—including entertainment, live music and food offerings. Anyone interested in volunteering at this year’s event may sign up at https://volunteers.folkartmarket.org/.
The International Folk Art Market (IFAM) also announces the appointment of new Board Chair Helena Ribe. An international development economist who retired from three decades working for the World Bank. She is a U.S. citizen born in Colombia. Ribe holds a PhD in Economics from Yale University and has devoted her career to reducing poverty and improving social and economic development worldwide. Her longtime involvement with the International Folk Art Market allows her to continue her decades of development experience.
“I am very excited about IFAM,” Ribe said. “We are an organization that has grown and transformed since our beginnings over 20 years ago. We have evolved to meet the artists and folk art at this time in history. I am honored to be the board chair and to lead alongside my fellow board members, executive director Stacey Edgar, and our dedicated staff members.”
IFAM also elected new board members Peggy Burns, Karen Gibbs, Felicia Morrow, Dr. Patrick Samora and Chris Julsrud—each representing a breadth of experience and unique backgrounds.
