Women-owned businesses featured at ‘Galentine’s Day’ event at Mellwood Art Center

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Valentine’s Day isn’t until Friday, so Sunday was all about the ladies.

The third annual Galentine’s Day Bash was held at Mellwood Art Center in Louisville. Last year, there were 30 woman-owned businesses at the event, that number grew to 95 this year.

Mothers came with their daughters and groups of friends all checked out arts, crafts and games.

“Bringing in 95 woman-owned businesses was the biggest way that we could bring in as many women together so we wanted to really show that on a small scale or on a large scale women are supporting women and Louisville is supporting women,” said Amanda Dare, founder of Woman-Owned Wallet.

According to the organizers, every dollar spent at the event directly supports and uplifts women entrepreneurs.
