Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Announces Inaugural Art Market

The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA) in Little Rock announced Friday that its first AMFA Art Market will take place in September.

Bringing together more than 30 contemporary artists from across the country, the AMFA Art Market will feature a diverse selection of paintings, works on paper, contemporary craft, jewelry and more.

The event will span throughout the museum, allowing guests to meet each artist, learn about their creative processes and purchase their work. The featured artists will be a combination of invited and juried artists.

The first AMFA Art Market will be open Sept. 4–Sept. 7 at the museum.

During the event, AMFA’s Windgate Art School will also host a marketplace showcasing emerging Arkansas artists for the last two days of the market.

“AMFA’s commitment to supporting artists and engaging the community through art is the central force behind this event,” Victoria Ramirez, AMFA’s executive director, said in a press release. “It offers an exciting opportunity for museum guests to make a direct connection with a variety of working artists and either start building or continue growing a personal art collection.”

Applications for both emerging Arkansas artists and featured artists are being accepted online through Feb. 27. Selected artists for the market will be announced in April. AMFA members will have access to a special preview Sept. 5.
