How did the art creation and market evolve last year? What were the most expensive Chinese art in salesrooms? And what policies were issued to further regulate the sector? These aspects were given a review at a recent forum on the development of art market in Beijing, jointly organized by Beijing Business Today and Beijing Association of Auctioneers.

Attendants from different sectors of art market discussed major events of last year which reveal changes and tendencies in the area, such as the competition between Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, Guangdong province, in building a showcase and trade center for international art, an increase in launching digital platforms for art fairs, auctions and auction previews and the rise of buyers born in 2000 and after, and their favored categories, which are different from those from older generations.
