The star who sang Please Please Please, Sabrina Carpenter has been making headlines. Her single Espresso, has ranked at #2 on IFPI’s list of the world’s best-selling singles in 2024.
Chart Data made this announcement on their X handle on February 20. In their caption, they also mentioned that it is a ”Best selling single by a female artist.”

Espresso came out on April 11 2024 and since then has gained massive success. It was the lead track from Sabrina’s studio album Short n’ Sweet. The song blended elements like funk, pop, confidence, and dance.
The music video directed by Dave Meyers complemented the song’s energetic and vibrant vibe and gained a close to close to 9 million within a week of release.

Espresso’s success further solidified at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where it got Sabrina her first Grammy for best pop solo performance. During the event, she also performed on Espresso and Please Please Please, becoming a highlight of that event.
On February 14, 2025, Sabrina released a deluxe edition of Short n’ Sweet. It featured a reimagined version of Please Please Please duet with Dolly Parton and also five bonus tracks.
Other than Espresso, Short n’ Sweet’s tracks also received eight nominations at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. This included Album of the Year. It won an award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
