Clay County Sheriff’s detective fired after social media post

(CLAY COUNTY, Mo.) The Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced that a detective has been fired following a post made on social media.

According to the sheriff’s office, a Professional Standards investigation began on February 7 after a detective reportedly posted a meme on social media.

It is being reported that the meme was an edited photo of President Trump with text indicating that Hispanic individuals should be worried about deportation.

The investigation found the detective had violated the Clay County Sheriff’s Office’s “Conduct and Member Speech, Expression and Social Networking” policies.

As a result the detective was fired from the sheriff’s office.
