The pandemic may have officially ended two years ago, but we still feel its impact. Artist Monica Moore wants to help the community process grief through “The Hearts Project.”
What started with cutting paper hearts on her kitchen table to honor the thousands of Arkansans who passed away from COVID-19 has evolved into a three-panel exhibit and has since become a collaborative effort between her and Life Styles, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adults with disabilities.
There was a closing reception for the Hearts Project and Life Styles collaboration last night at Life Styles’ Blair Center. A new panel featured blue paper hearts, and gallery walls were adorned with individual paintings and collages inspired by Life Styles clients’ memories from the pandemic. Ozarks at Large’s Jack Travis visited the reception.
You can visit the gallery at Life Styles Blair Center in Springdale through next weekend.
