
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WSFA) – Alabama native Ella Langley won her first Academy of Country Music Award, for new female artist of the year, Friday afternoon.
Langley received the news while on stage for her Rock the Country set in Knoxville Tennessee.
Miranda Lambert, the most decorated artist in ACM history, presented the award to Langley.
“I’m here to tell you how proud I am of you for being the top nominated artist for the Academy of Country Music Awards this year,” Lambert said.
Langley’s hit single, “You look like you love me” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Langley will be celebrated at the 60th ACM Awards hosted by Reba McEntire on May 8.
