On Saturday, May 24, users of the social media network X found themselves facing difficulties with features like sending private messages or loading their news feeds. It appears that the platform suffered from some new technical problems. The precise cause of the issues that users experienced remains unclear at this moment. Downdetector, a website that tracks online service outages, recorded thousands of outage reports starting around 2:15 PM, according to Le Parisien. The platform X itself has not made any statements regarding these technical difficulties.
Technical disruptions began affecting the network as early as Thursday evening. Although the site remained online, the news feed and other content did not refresh properly. This is not the first time the platform has encountered such issues recently: since Elon Musk took over Twitter in 2022, the social network has undergone significant restructuring, and the platform’s technical stability has sometimes been compromised.
