The event, organized by the association Futur Composé, will feature exclusive musical performances by the Psychotic Monks and Bonnie Banane, in collaboration with five young artists who have autism spectrum disorders.
“To spark the curiosity of everyone while uncovering hidden talents in facilities that serve individuals with autism spectrum disorders.” This is the declared goal of the Colis Suspect event, organized by the association Futur Composé. The association drives cultural initiatives and fosters encounters between young people with autism spectrum disorders and established artists. Their aim: to showcase the results of their collaborative creative efforts. This includes an exhibition, concerts, and unique collaborations, all happening from June 25 to July 3.
Each year, a mysterious object is mailed to various institutions to “inspire the creation of multifaceted artworks”. This year, the theme revolves around games, with the institutions receiving a rock, paper, and scissors.
An opening night event will be held on June 26 featuring Mathieu Amalric, the jury president, who will be interviewed by journalists from Le Papotin—a magazine whose editorial team includes journalists with autism spectrum disorders.
An Evening with the Psychotic Monks, Another with Bonnie Banane
The following day, the Psychotic Monks will perform a set specially designed for the event with four young talents from institutions for autistic individuals in the Paris area: Enkhjin (Mongolian harp), Etienne (keyboard), Markus (drums), Jean (vocals). “These musicians, who practice in an experimental and instinctive manner, will resonate with the group’s universe where chaos and improvisation always find balance,” praise the event organizers. This creation will also be presented at Rock en Seine on August 23.
On June 28, Bonnie Banane will perform with Ethan Offiong, a young artist from the Maison Perce-Neige IME Alternance in Bourg-la-Reine and a member of the band Méribel. He had previously gained attention during the Rencontres du Papotin, a show aired on France 2. Tickets are available here.
