The European Union Delegation to Namibia has unveiled plans for a groundbreaking exhibition titled ‘All In – Inspire Inclusion’, set to open its doors on Wednesday, 6 March, at the prestigious Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) in Windhoek. Aimed at celebrating the artistic achievements and resilience of Namibian female artists, the exhibition will run from 6 to 12 March, aligning with International Women’s Day celebrations.
Celebrating Creativity and Diversity
With a theme of ‘Inspire Inclusion,’ the exhibition is designed to shine a spotlight on the diverse talents of Namibian women in the arts. Featuring an array of empowering artworks by notable artists such as Anne Lacheiner Kuhn, Dörte Berner, Foibe Amundaba, Ina Maria Shikongo, Jo Rogge, Lynette Musukubili, and Nicole Schaller, the event is a testament to the creativity and strength of women in the Namibian art scene. The official opening, scheduled for 18:00 on 6 March, will offer attendees the opportunity to purchase artworks through an auction, with proceeds exceeding the reserve price benefiting a local NGO dedicated to women’s empowerment initiatives.
A Collaborative Effort for Women’s Empowerment
The ‘All In – Inspire Inclusion’ exhibition is the result of a collaborative effort between the European Union Delegation, the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC), The Project Room, and RMB Namibia. H.E. Ana Beatriz Martins, EU Ambassador to Namibia, emphasized the significance of the exhibition, highlighting its role in promoting inclusivity and empowering women. The ambassador’s message underscores the EU’s commitment to championing gender equality and supporting the arts as a vehicle for social change. Attendees are encouraged to immerse themselves in the artistic expressions and narratives of Namibian female artists, celebrating their contributions to the cultural and creative landscapes.
A Platform for Recognition and Support
The exhibition not only aims to showcase the exceptional talents of Namibian female artists but also to foster a supportive community for women in the arts. By providing a platform for their work, the event seeks to inspire inclusion and elevate the visibility of women’s achievements in the creative sector. The sale of artworks through auction represents a tangible means of supporting women’s empowerment initiatives, further amplifying the impact of the exhibition beyond the confines of the gallery space.
As the ‘All In – Inspire Inclusion’ exhibition approaches, the anticipation builds for what promises to be a vibrant celebration of Namibian women’s creativity and achievements. This initiative serves as a reminder of the power of art to unite, inspire, and drive positive change, reinforcing the importance of inclusivity and empowerment in every facet of society. Through the collective efforts of artists, organizers, and supporters, the exhibition aims to leave a lasting legacy of inspiration and resilience, echoing the spirit of International Women’s Day and advancing the cause of gender equality in the arts and beyond.
