ONTARIO — An artist collective at 443 S.W. First St. bid adieu last week to the community in its current form, The House That Art Built, which established at that location about 18 years ago. The final two days, March 8-9, included a yard sale of odds and ends, including all of the display fixtures, and while people milled about considering purchases, artists were busy dismantling those fixtures, including removing shelves off walls and nails or screws that held them in place.
One of those artists, Betty Lesko, was ringing up those final transactions on Thursday and told how the story is changing for some artists in the collective.
