Equality State evens ground for women artists

Washington D.C.’s National Museum of Women in the Arts reopened in October after major renovations. With the reopening, a new exhibition, “New Worlds: Women to Watch 2024,” opened, and for the first time it included representation from Wyoming.

Five Wyoming women artists were nominated by Wyoming-based consulting curator Tammi Hanawalt, in collaboration with a Wyoming committee that included valley residents Shari Brownfield and Kristen Broeder. A special projects team that aided the effort included Katie Brooks, of Jackson; Laura Ladd, of Wilson; and Katherine Conover-Keller, of Jackson.
