Huntsville Art Crawl recruiting artists, businesses  : My Muskoka Now

The Huntsville Festival of the Arts (HFA) has put out a call for both artists and businesses for a summer art event.

The Huntsville Art Crawl is a free self-guided tour of art installations around downtown Huntsville from June 1 to 30.

Participating businesses will need to provide space to exhibit the artworks, while artists get the chance to sell their art directly to the public. Officials say last year’s event took in 4,000 visitors across 64 artists, generating $15,178 in sales across 32 businesses.

“We’re thrilled to bring back the Art CRAWL initiative,” says HFA Executive Director Dan Watson. “It’s an opportunity to highlight the amazing businesses and artists in our community. We’ll also be featuring a lot of special events as part of the festivities including the return of the popular en plein air art market on June 22. We hope all this activity will attract greater visitation downtown. ”

The deadline to apply is April 26. Application forms can be found here for businesses and here for artists.
