Prospective partners are invited to submit a concise, one-page formal letter of interest. This letter should include essential details such as the project name, a brief description, the business sponsor’s name, and the nature of the sponsorship offered (cash, in-kind, or both, with a specified rand value). Additionally, the letter should be accompanied by the business sponsor’s letter of endorsement.
The deadline for letters of interest for this round of applications is 6 May 2024.
BASA membership registration is quick and simple. Interested parties should check here for a detailed criteria and guidelines. Eligible applicants will subsequently receive an invitation to complete a comprehensive online application.
Applications will undergo evaluation based on various criteria, including the project’s scale and impact, artistic merit, feasibility, contribution to social cohesion and reach in relation to the available funding.
Preference will be given to projects that offer tangible benefits to their business sponsor(s). As a membership organisation, BASA will prioritise projects where both the arts organisation and business sponsor(s) are BASA members.
To apply for a BASA Supporting Grant, both the applicant and the sponsor must complete the application forms, which are designed to encourage the two partners to work together and identify areas of potential benefit. BASA allocates funds to the project once it has assessed how the partnership benefits both the sponsor and the recipient.
The application deadline is 20 May. For inquiries, email Sipho Mthiyane at sipho@basa.co.za.
