Adam Hammer to perform at Saturday Art Market on Aug. 10

ALEXANDRIA

— Adam Hammer will perform at the Saturday Art Market in Alexandria’s Big Ole Central Park on Aug. 10.

Singer/songwriter Adam Hammer plays a blend of original folk, alternative, blues, rock, and alternative country, which is said to pair well with Tom Waits, The Lumineers, Jim Croce, Bob Dylan and more. “Hammer is something new wrapped in something unexpectedly familiar,” says the press release.

Organized by the Alexandria Arts Guild, the Art Market offers the opportunity for locals and visitors to gather at Big Ole Central Park on the north end of Broadway in Alexandria every Saturday this summer.

The Art Market, which is held next to Alexandria’s Farmers Market, runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on May 25 through August 31. Music will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Saturday.

Attendees will be able to visit with local artists and shop their offerings. Coffee and food items will be available near the market, and there will be live music every weekend.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
