LVDC to Host Art, Education and Networking Events in September

Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) is gearing up for a vibrant September, with a series of three events Sept. 6, 7 and 19, set to inspire, educate and connect the Las Vegas design community. These events will offer trade professionals the chance to earn CEU credits and practice design skills. They will also offer the public a unique window into the world of design.

“We’re excited to present an energized lineup of events this September,” said Cain Brodie, LVDC General Manager. “LVDC is committed to promoting education and fostering connections within the design community.”

Sept. 6 First Friday Session Explores Performance Fabrics with Sunbrella

Kicking off the September schedule, the Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) will host a First Friday session, “Sustainable Performance Fabrics: From Fiber to Design,” Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This insightful event will explore the entire lifecycle of performance fabrics — from fiber selection to the final design — while emphasizing sustainable practices within the industry. Attendees will gain a deep understanding of both natural and synthetic fibers, coloration and finishing techniques, alongside common testing methods used in the performance fabric industry. The session also will highlight the application of these fabrics in luxury and lifestyle design, making it an essential event for professionals focused on sustainability and innovation in their work.

Following the seminar, participants are invited to enjoy light refreshments in the O.W. Lee and Telescope Casual showrooms, offering a relaxed setting for networking and further discussion of the topics covered. The session offers attendees 0.1 CEU credits and registration is required.

Sept. 7 Art 4 Autism Reception Caps Month-Long Fundraiser

On Sat., Sept. 7, LVDC will host a Champagne Artist Reception, celebrating and marking the end of its third-annual edition of the Art 4 Autism exhibition, a month-long fundraiser, in partnership with Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT). The installation of custom art created by adults and children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is currently on display in the Atrium of Building A at World Market Center Las Vegas, and every original piece in the installation is available for auction. Fifty percent of proceeds raised will benefit FEAT and 50 percent will be given directly to artists.

The event will culminate with a VIP gallery reception Sept. 7, 5 p.m.–8 p.m., when the public is invited to view the artwork, meet the artists and participate in a silent auction. No RSVP is required to attend the reception. Art enthusiasts also can support the cause by bidding on the displayed pieces through the online auction, which runs until Sept. 7.

Sept. 19 Swatched! IDS Design Competition Debuts in Las Vegas

On Thurs., Sept. 19, LVDC and the Interior Design Society will host “Swatched Las Vegas!”, a fun and exciting interior design game which challenges participants to create a vision board under time constraints, based on a specific prompt. With twists including “mystery items” provided by event sponsors, single competitors, duos and students will compete to win their categories and the evening’s Best in Show, as voted by a panel of celebrity judges.

Founded by the IDS (Interior Design Society) Long Island Chapter, and celebrated at both Long Island and Portland chapters, the debut Las Vegas event serves also as a fundraiser for the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. The event runs 6 p.m.–9 p.m., with winners and a celebration party starting at 8 p.m.
