PARKERSBURG — Doug Kreinik, owner of Kreinik Manufacturing Company, will be on hand for a special Q&A session from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Parkersburg Art Center.
The session will be to discuss and answer questions about the exhibit showcasing his company’s innovative textile products. Visitors will meet on the Mezzanine level of the art center. There is no cost to attend.
Kreinik Manufacturing, a family-owned business, has been a staple in the thread industry since its beginnings in the early 1970s. Founded in Doug’s parents’ home, the company has grown into a global enterprise, with its threads shipped from its factory in Parkersburg to customers around the world. Last year, Kreinik celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of excellence in the thread market.
The company is celebrated for its diverse range of silk and metallic threads used in various industries, including needlework, crafts, fashion, costume design, film, and fly fishing. Kreinik threads have adorned everything from home projects and academic work to high-fashion pieces and iconic movie costumes, including those seen in “Game of Thrones” and “Hocus Pocus 2.”
The current exhibit features an array of needlework masterpieces created with Kreinik’s threads. Visitors to the exhibit will have the opportunity to see firsthand the craftsmanship and creativity that Kreinik’s products inspire.

During the Q&A session, Doug Kreinik will provide insights into the history and evolution of his family business, the technological advancements in thread manufacturing, and the impact of Kreinik threads on various creative industries. Attendees will also have the chance to learn more about the techniques used in the showcased needlework and ask questions about the featured products.
The work samples will be available for sale.
