JEFFERSON, Texas (KSLA) – The historic town of Jefferson, Texas is hosting its Inaugural art walk, filled with music, unique stores, and great art.
On September 7, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., the historic town of Jefferson, Texas’ Inaugural Indoor Art Walk will showcase local art, music, and businesses.
Attendees will enjoy music, unique shopping experiences, food, and talented art.
The business organizing the event is the Walnut Street Gallery, at 114 North Walnut Street, a new gallery that is holding its soft opening the same day as the art walk. Originally the grand opening was planned but only a soft opening can be held due to a catastrophe during a storm, where the tin roof was blown off of the gallery’s building.
Walnut Street Gallery is owned by retired art teacher Jennifer Phillips, who has refound her passion for the creative arts after starting several Jefferson businesses. She makes pottery and jewelry that will be featured in the shop alongside other artists from Jefferson and ArkLaTex artists. The artist that will be featured in the gallery can be seen on her website, https://walnutstreetgallery.art/artists.html.
