Bibb County superintendent addresses social media threats to schools

The Bibb County School District Superintendent Dr. Dan Sims confirmed they are aware of possible threats to county schools Monday.

Dr. Sims took to Facebook and said online social media posts were flagged and reported.

“Bibb County School District is aware of social media postings cautioning a possible threat to Bibb Schools today,” wrote Sims. “These posts were immediately flagged and reported to Meta and to emergency authorities, including BCSD Campus Police.”

Dr. Sims assured the community that safety is the district’s top priority.

“We will continue to investigate and follow all security protocols. The safety of our students and staff continues to be a top priority, and we are asking anyone with any information about a specific threat to please call Campus Police at 478-779-2040.”
