Last Saturday morning, a man found himself the victim of an armed robbery after arranging a meet-up through a social networking platform. The encounter took place near the corner of Gladys and Park at approximately 6:00 a.m., as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The victim, a 30-year-old male, had arranged to meet another individual following an interaction on a social networking application. Upon meeting, the individual took out a gun and demanded the victim’s belongings, instructing him to hand over his keys and phone, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department news release. The man complied, but as he was walking away, he heard the sound of a gunshot and began to run.
The victim discovered his 2015 Dodge Journey and phone had been taken after reaching safety. The gunfire was reported, but no casualties were recorded. Officers from St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s District 6 are looking into it. The public is being asked for assistance by the authorities.
