King & Prince have announced that their new single “WOW,” the lead track from their upcoming 6th album Re:ERA, will be released for digital streaming on September 30. The physical album is set to drop on December 11. Fans can expect a blend of fresh energy and uplifting vibes, thanks to a notable collaboration between the group and celebrated artist Daichi Miura, producer UTA, and King & Prince’s own Takahashi Kaito.
Miura, who not only contributed to the song’s lyrics and composition but also took on the choreography, was excited to be part of the project. In a statement, he expressed his joy at the opportunity, saying, “It was an honor to be involved in creating both the music and choreography. I hope the song connects listeners’ hearts with a powerful, gentle energy that brings joy to the world.“
King & Prince, who were specifically looking for a “happy mood,” approached Miura, believing his unique style would be a perfect match. Takahashi reflected on the experience, noting how the collaboration allowed the group to create a track that would resonate with listeners. “We wanted people to truly enjoy the music and feel like moving to the beat,” he shared, emphasizing how Miura and UTA worked closely with them to bring this vision to life.
The choreography was equally special, with Miura drawing inspiration from an original character he created for the song, known as “ARE-X.” He crafted a routine that reflects King & Prince’s natural charm and positive energy, noting how their personalities shone through the movements. “Their dance is filled with a happy aura—it’s simply the best,” Miura said.
With Re:ERA marking a new chapter for King & Prince, “WOW” is set to be a standout track that encapsulates the joyful, dynamic energy King & Prince is known for.
