Kids would need parent approval to be on social media under proposed Michigan law

Michigan residents under 18 would not be allowed to use a social media account without consent from their parents under a new bill.

The proposal would require social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and others to implement a usage curfew for minors, get parental consent for minor accounts and provide parents tools to limit their child’s daily social media use.
