15 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

MR TWIN SISTER – MR TWIN SISTER (DEMOS, OUTTAKES, B-SIDES)

Mr Twin Sister have shared a compilation of demos, outtakes, b-sides, and unreleased songs to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their self titled record. It’s a free Bandcamp download.

SPORTS TEAM – “CONDENSATION”

Sports Team singer Alex Rice calls “Condensation” a “big, sweat-slicked, saucer-eyed song,” while bandmate Rob Knaggs says, “If Adam Sandler remade ‘Nymphomaniac,’ this song would play over the credits. We recorded versions with brass bands, and Jools Holland, but it never quite felt right. All came together very quickly in Bergen. It’s the song on the album we’re most excited to play live.” New album Boys These Days is out in Febraury.

MILITARY GENIUS (CRACK CLOUD’S BRYCE CLOGHESY) – “WINDOW TO THE SOUL”

Military Genius, aka Crack Cloud member Bryce Cloghesy, will release new album Scarred for Life on November 1 and here’s a new single from it. “‘Window to the Soul’ reflects on trauma and its after-effects, exploring how the past can distort and reshape the present,” Bryce says. “Attempting to explain what has happened takes us further away from understanding. Like looking through curved glass, each perspective reshapes and challenges our notion of objective truth. This life is a house of mirrors, and sometimes getting lost is the point. In that moment of desperation, logic is irrelevant. All that is left is feeling.”

S.C.A.B. – “IDK NEW REALITY”

New York band S.C.A.B. will release new EP Rose Colored Glasses on October 25 and here’s the first single. Sean Camargo says “IDK New Reality is aboout ““Losing grip on reality. Clinging to identity. A large crucifix in Bolivia guarded by the police. Sexuality. Don’t forget about me. Dancing in the rain. Accepting the present moment as it is.”

NEVA DINOVA – “NEAR ME”

Neva Dinova’ first album in 16 years, Canary, is out this Friday, and they’ve shared a final pre-release single, the garagey “Near Me.” “An idiot wishes for the most basic and stupid dream,” Jake Bellows says of the song. “It may be the smartest thought he’s had. He’s so dumb that the sound of his own voice makes him forget what he’s talking about. Good luck.”

THE MURDER CAPITAL – “CAN’T PRETEND TO KNOW”

Irish band The Murder Capital are back with their first new music since great sophomore album, Gigi’s Recovery. “Can’t Pretend to Know” was produced by John Congleton and is a real rager, but still with that melodic sense that bloomed on their most recent album.

SASAMI – “SLUGGER”

SASAMI has announced a new album, Blood on the Silver Screen, which will be out March 5 via Domino. She co-produced the album with Jenn Decilveo (Andra Day, Porridge Radio) and Rostam, and Clairo features on “In Love With A Memory.” Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, and Prince are among the inspirations she’s cited for this album. You can heart that direction on this new single.
