WILLIAMSBURG — The Virginia Beer Company’s Strictly Business beer for fall 2024 has been tapped, and that means the free networking event hosted by WYDaily.com, 92.3FM The Tide Radio, Cannon Country 107.9 and 30 Off Local, in partnership with CultureFix is right around the corner.
This fall’s event is Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg. It is primarily an outdoor event with additional space inside the museum.
“The countdown is on for Strictly Business Fall 2024 as we are just days away. The word is out, vendors are in place, sponsors are locked in and beverages are being chilled,” said Elisa Campana, Marketing and Events Director for Local Daily Media, the parent company of WYDaily, 92.3FM The Tide Radio, Cannon Country 107.9 and 30 Off Local. “Whether you are looking for a job, are opening a new business or have been established for years, Strictly Business can help you. If you have not registered, make sure to do so before you go.”
More than 1,250 people came out to The Williamsburg Winery in April for the spring edition of Strictly Business, a new record.
Attendees have the opportunity to network with over 1,200 locals from all over the region while sampling food and desserts from several Colonial Williamsburg restaurants, as well as restaurants from all over the peninsula. Beer, wine, canned cocktails, coffee and non-alcoholic options and more are available, as is the Virginia Beer Company’s Strictly Business beer.
VBC describes the beer as a “hazy, flavorful, citrus-forward India Pale Ale. Notes of candied orange & peach are complemented by low bitterness and a soft malt backbone,” adding that the label was inspired by the “rich, historic hues of Colonial Williamsburg.” The small batch recipe will be shared exclusively at Strictly Business.
On-site activities will include speed networking, photo booths, a scavenger hunt, cornhole and more. The Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg will be offering free museum access to all guests during the event.
The organizers say Strictly Business is their way of making their virtual community a literal one, by gathering local newsmakers and consumers who have a common commitment to community through its free networking event.
“There are a lot of exciting things planned for this event and we want to make sure you have the chance to see it all. Grab a map and scavenger hunt upon arrival to help you navigate the space,” Campana said.
“My tips for success at the event would be to introduce yourself at all sponsor tables, sign up for speed networking and plan to set meetings with your new contacts,” she added. “I would also suggest updating your LinkedIn and plan on connecting with your new contacts after the event.”
The event is free to attend, but registration is required. Attendees must be 21 or older to attend — no pets or children are allowed. Strictly Business will take place rain-or-shine, and due to the indoor/outdoor nature of the event, heels are highly discouraged.
“We appreciate all of the excitement and support from the community and cannot wait for another big event on Oct. 2,” Campana said.
