The Clay County, Missouri Sheriff’s Office has reported a Kansas City Chiefs ticket scam involving a private seller on Facebook. The scammer, who goes by the name “Dana,” has been linked to several similar fraudulent activities on social media, attempting to defraud buyers looking for Chiefs tickets.

In this particular case, the victim communicated with Dana through Facebook Messenger, where she offered to sell tickets to the Chiefs game. After negotiating, Dana requested an initial payment of $500 via Apple Pay, which the victim sent to a phone number provided by the scammer. Shortly after, Dana requested an additional $500 from a different phone number, citing an unexpected fee for a large transaction. The victim, suspicious of the second request, refused to send more money, realizing it was likely a scam.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office advises the public to exercise caution when purchasing tickets from private sellers on social media platforms. Officials recommend purchasing tickets directly from authorized vendors to avoid falling victim to similar scams.
