Park Hotel Tokyo has announced the launch of “Artist Room Japanese Patterns,” its latest collaboration with Paralym Art, which will allow guests to experience the beauty of Japan through the work of Paralym Art artist, KOTO.
This project aims to create opportunities for disabled artists and support their independence as part of Sustainable Development Goals activities.
The new artist room, created by KOTO, an artist based in Ishikawa Prefecture, offers a unique art space themed around traditional Japanese patterns. This is the second collaboration with a Paralym Art artist, and the 42nd artist room overall.
Room 3418 on the 34th floor was chosen for its harmonious view and compatibility with the building’s landscape.
An “Artist Room” at Park Hotel Tokyo is a guest room where artists have painted directly on the walls, featuring the following characteristics:
- Unique Art Space: Each room is decorated with paintings directly on the walls and ceilings by artists, offering the value of being a one-of-a-kind art piece.
- Diverse Themes: There are 41 artist rooms with themes aligned with Japanese aesthetics, such as “Castle,” “Cherry Blossoms,” and “Kabuki” (note), each created by different artists. Two more rooms are currently in production.
- Extraordinary Accommodation Experience: Staying in a space surrounded by art promises to be an unforgettable experience for those celebrating special occasions or seeking creative inspiration.
Park Hotel Tokyo is a sister hotel of Shiba Park Hotel, which was established in 1948. Located on the 25th to 34th floors of the Shiodome Media Tower, it offers a spectacular view of Tokyo Tower and Mount Fuji. The hotel has 268 guest rooms, 41 of which are ‘Artist Rooms’ where artists have painted the walls.
These ‘Artist Rooms’ are part of a project conceived to experience the aesthetic sense of Japan, and have won the Excellence Award in the Japan Tourism Awards. Over 400 pieces of art are displayed in the lobby and corridors. Art events such as tea ceremonies and painting experiences are also held.
