Jazzy has become Ireland’s most globally streamed female artist on Spotify this week, marking another major career milestone for the rising star.
The Dublin native broke onto the scene last year with her debut song Giving Me, quickly hitting number one in the Irish charts. Jazzy was the first Irish woman to do this in 13 years.
Additionally, Giving Me impressively reached number two in the UK charts.
Currently at 151 million streams, the pop anthem is one of the most streamed Irish singles of recent years thanks to its excellent production and stellar vocals from Jazzy.
It was revealed on Friday that the 28-year-old now has has an audience of 7.3M monthly listeners on the music streaming site which launched back in 2008.
The increase in Jazzy’s listenership has taken ahead of the late Sinead O’Connor, who has 5.3 million monthly listeners, and 63-year-old Enya, with the Donegal native having 4.8 million.
Sinead’s music, including her cover of Prince’s Nothing Compares 2 U and Nirvana’s All Apologies, reemerged on charts around the world following the legendary musician’s passing in July last year.
Overall, Jazzy is currently the firth biggest Irish solo artist, with Hozier and Van Morrison, Niall Horan and Dermot Kennedy ahead of her at this moment in time.
With the new single No Bad Vibes alongside Kilimanjaro releasing next Friday, it appears that Jazzy might carry on her ascent on Spotify in the coming months.
Additionally, she will be playing the Index in Dublin on November 9, Belfast’s Telegraph Building on November 22 and The Electric Ballroom in London on November 23.
The most-streamed Irish song of all time is Hozier’s Take Me to Church, which has been streamed 2.7 billion times, making it the 23rd most-streamed song on the entire platform.
The Bray man also saw his recent chart-topper Too Sweet hit a billion streams on Thursday, reaching the milestone in just six months.
