The Gannet marks 11 years with new menu and artist collaboration

The Gannet,  led by award-winning chef Peter McKenna, is celebrating its 11th anniversary in Finnieston with the launch of a new autumn menu and an artist-in-residence initiative, both inspired by Scotland’s natural landscape.

To mark its anniversary, The Gannet has partnered with artist Cornelius Wright, whose collection of paintings, inspired by Scottish chanterelles, will be displayed in the restaurant for the rest of the year. Wright, who now lives in Callander, draws inspiration from Scotland’s seasonal landscapes, which matches The Gannet’s focus on nature and sustainability.

Peter McKenna, Chef Patron at The Gannet, said, “As we enter peak mushroom season, Cornelius’ work beautifully complements the flavours of our autumn menu. His paintings capture the essence of chanterelles, bringing the forest floor to our walls, while we present them on the plate.”

The new autumn menu highlights Scotland’s seasonal ingredients and sustainability, with nose-to-tail cooking and locally foraged ingredients with dishes such as Perthshire partridge with winter chanterelles and sloe sauce, Scottish cured Loch Melfort sea trout, and Cairngorm Red Deer with Isle of Mull dumpling. The menu also features wild grouse from Mayshiel Estate and partnerships with local producers like Glasgow-based craft chocolatier Bare Bones.

In addition, The Gannet will be supporting local food banks, including Drumchapel & Possilpark Young People’s Futures, through the end of the year.
