Celebrate diversity this holiday season at the Queer Holiday Art Market

This holiday season, the Cocodrie Art Market is partnering with Acadiana Queer Collective (Pride Acadiana) to host a festive Queer Holiday Art Market, where local artists and the LGBTQ+ community come together.

The Queer Holiday Art Market will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 9 in the 700 block of Jefferson Street. With expanded booths, showcasing local vendors offering unique gifts, hand-crafted items and one-of-a-kind art pieces. The Queer Holiday Art Market will offer holiday shopping while supporting local queer artists and non-queer artists, according to Cocodrie Art Market.

It will feature holiday decor, stocking stuffers and bold fashion accessories. The Queer Holiday Art Market also will feature free, fun family events for everyone. Here are a few things to expect at the event:

  • Photos with Santa: Snap a pic with a queer-friendly Santa, guaranteed to bring some extra sparkle to your holiday memories. Santa will be at the Art Market from 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Letters to Santa: Kids and adults alike are invited to write Letters to Santa at Cocodrie, located at 515 Jefferson St.

The Queer Holiday Art Market is still looking for vendors and volunteers who can register at www.cocodriecollective.com/pages/events or www.acadianaqueercollective.org
