In Pictures: Diptyque’s festive felt collab with artist Lucy Sparrow

Diptyque has teamed up with British contemporary artist and felt crafter Lucy Sparrow for a wide-reaching festive collaboration, taking in special edition packaging, a multitude of gifts items and decorations, along with a pop-up installation at its flagship Bond Street Maison.

The pop-up takes the form of a festive delicatessen in the ephemeral space of the Bond Street store where 2,000 festive felt faux-food items are available to purchase – from faux chocolates, cheese boards, fruit, vegetables, candy canes, turkeys, mince pies, Christmas cake and pork pies – along with felt Diptyque candles and fragrance bottles. Sparrow has also created decorations throughout the stores, including quirky Christmas trees of varying sizes.

Diptyque has also collaborated with Sparrow on the packaging for its festive limited edition products this season, such as its advent calendar and its signature trio of Christmas candles, Sapin, Etoile and Friandise. which are available to all customers in-store and online.

The pop-ups have only been installed in the Diptyque Maisons (the new immersive retail concepts from the French fragrance house) in London and Paris, and the collaboration is the first of its kind ever undertaken.

Visitors to Bond Street can also participate in a felt crafting workshop and a festive wreath making workshop, and digital artwork has been created that can be downloaded and used as wallpaper for a tablet or phone.

The Diptyque Maison on Bond Street was opened in May, followed shortly after by the Paris version on Rue Duphot. It covers three storeys of the historic Bond Street building and allows shoppers to immerse themselves in the world of Diptyque and its history in a luxury, experiential setting. Its ephemeral space offers an ever evolving line-up of experiences and, before the Lucy Sparrow Delicatessen, it housed a pop-up of Paris institution Café Verlet with whom Diptyque also collaborated on a range of candles.
