Shaw’s concept art, that includes poetry that is imbued with the same artistic spirit as her colorful images. According to Shaw’s artist statement:
“Life is beautiful! Deep down, there is a rich inner landscape where love casts its light upon the shadows of my missteps, joys, and heartaches. Something greater than myself always emerges to guide me as I work on my art. I feel the wisdom of the ancestors and the harmonic tones of a billion beating hearts. I see love expressed through everyone and everything.
“From this place I create hand-colored ink drawings with intricate detail, often including collage. Layering line, color, altered papers and hand drawn details, the artwork takes on a life of its own. Days, weeks, and often months pass as the piece unfolds before me. I experience an undeniable sense of peace. It flows from my spirit, through my pens, pencils, and brushes onto the paper. Creating art is my calling. May it give you joy.”
