As it celebrates its 38th founding anniversary, the Feminine Touch, an all-women group of Negrense artists, opened a group art exhibition for a cause at the lobby of The Upper East House of Megaworld Bacolod last Thursday, which ran until September 30.
The show, titled “Filipiniana”, was also held in line with the celebration of World Tourism Week, and in collaboration with Megaworld and the Bacolod City Tourism Office.
Featured are the artworks of Dolly Gatuslao, Beth Puey, Anette Feria, Sony Golez, Chrysee Samillano, Miriam Bayles, Helen Quillo, who are founding members of Feminine Touch, and Patty Jane Ong, Pablita Nava, Chin Guanzon, Princy Martir and Jenevieve Abeto.
Dolly Gatuslao, who founded the group when she was president of the Art Association of Bacolod, gave the welcoming remarks during a program, while Board Member Rita Gatuslao, chair of the SP Committee on Women and Children, delivered the message of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson for the artists.
Gatuslao, together with lawyer Andrea Si, president of the Provincial Council for Women and Children, presented the founding members with certificates of recognition signed by Lacson and Si, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the arts as one of the pioneering members of the Feminine Touch.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Gatuslao, Si, Megaworld Bacolod Sales Directors, Gilbert Montebon, Junior Assistant Vice President; Gian Javellana, Junior Sales Executive Sales Director; and Danica Joy Lagansoa, Broker Manager; representing Jennifer Palmares-Fong, First Vice President For Sales and Marketing of Megaworld Visayas, and Bacolod Tourism Operations Officer Ma. Teresa Manalili.
A portion of the proceeds of the exhibition will benefit victims affected by the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon.*
