Ask not what your city can do for you. Ask what you can do for your city. That’s exactly what Caffé Aroma did when they decided to roll out Art Market Mondays. Essentially, Art Market Mondays is an artist pop-up series that takes place outside every Monday from 7pm to 11pm.
Here’s how it works:
“We invite artists to take over our Elmwood patio on Monday nights at 7pm. It goes like this: Show up, set up, and sell their works. We instruct them not to block the sidewalks, share if necessary, sell original works, not to sell any licensed images (sports teams, characters, etc.). We have a few folding tables for artists, provided by our employee and plein-air painter Liz Spector. She usually sets up and sells her prints as well. Sometimes musicians show up and play. We started it two weeks ago.” – Caffé Aroma
Now this is the sort of community-driven event series that we can surely all appreciate. It brings life to the street, art to our walls, and some well-earned dough into the pockets of our artist friends. Let’s keep these amazing ideas coming!
Art Market Mondays! Every Monday 7pm-10pm. Artists Welcome. No sign up needed.
