
A pop-up art gallery, breakdancing competition and night market are happening in Pentagon City this Friday to commemorate the cherry blossom bloom.
The free event, Art of Pink, will take place from 5-10 p.m. at Met Park on 1321 S. Elm Street.
Over 90 artists will be represented
- Art of Pink’s Blossom Night Market includes food vendors and goods from Asian American and Pacific Islander artisans. Registration is encouraged.
- Locally made, 1’x1′ cherry blossom artwork will be available for purchase at BLOOM, a gallery exhibit.
- The D.C. area’s oldest breakdancing troupe, Lionz of Zion, will celebrate its 29th anniversary with a competition alongside Olympics mixer DJ Fleg.
‘Pink Beats’ ends Thursday
- Elsewhere in National Landing, Pink Beats, a cherry blossom-themed concert series, is also holding its third and final event at Crystal City’s Water Park on Thursday.
- D.C.-area funk and go-go group Mambo Sauce will headline the free concert alongside opener Everyday Everybody.
- The show starts at 5 p.m. and includes happy hour deals, lawn games and free giveaways.
Seasonal eats are nearby
- Cherry blossom-themed cocktails are available to order from Taqueria Xochi, Peruvian Brothers and Good Company Doughnuts.
- Toby’s Ice Cream will also be on-site with seasonal treats, including a cherry blossom sorbet and a Peeps marshmallow sundae.
