On Saturday, September 7, The Woodlands Arts Council hosted the first-ever Young Makers Market at Market Street The Woodlands. This one-of-a-kind opportunity gave Montgomery County students ages 8-18 an opportunity to sell their unique artistic creations in a one-day mini-arts festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Young Artists of all skill levels were encouraged to apply. Fifty artists were selected from The Woodlands and greater Montgomery County area and gathered on August 17 at The Jett Center to prepare for the first-ever Young Makers Market. During the day of workshops, the young artists from 3rd to 12th grade learned about marketing, sales strategies, leadership, finance, and what it is like to be a working artist through workshops conducted by local professionals. The Young Makers Market is part of The Woodlands Arts Council’s (TWAC) celebration of 20 years of Making Art Matter in Montgomery County. As the producers of the nationally recognized The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival (April 11-13, 2025) and the upcoming Texas Fine Craft Show (November 1, 2, & 3, 2024) the reflects TWAC’s mission to amplify arts awareness in the community through arts education, opportunities and collaboration.
