Artspace Guåhan will be hosting its Creative Connections Mixer, an exclusive event designed to bring together Guam’s artistic community for an evening of collaboration, creativity, and resource sharing.
The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Dusit Place in Tumon.
The Creative Connections Mixer is a free, private, artist-only event aimed at fostering relationships among local artists, providing a space for open dialogue about the resources needed to support the diverse needs of Guam’s creative community.
Artists of all mediums are invited to showcase their work, collaborate on a communal art piece, and participate in live performances and interactive activities.
“At Artspace Guåhan, our mission is to help artists bridge the gap between their creative passions and sustainable careers,” Deane Jessee-Jones, co-founder of Artspace Guåhan, said in a statement. “This event is an important step toward ensuring that the resources we offer meet the needs of our diverse art community. We want artists to know that we are here to support them in making their creative dreams a reality.”
The event highlights include:
• Collaborative art station: Artists are invited to contribute to a communal art piece that will represent the collective creativity of the community.
• Poetry and word wall: An interactive wall where participants can share their thoughts, poems, or ideas.
• Mini art exhibition: Artists will have the opportunity to showcase and sell their latest works.
• Open mic performances: Artists can perform songs, poetry, or spoken word in front of their peers.
• Art battle: A live competition with cash prizes where selected artists create a piece of art in one hour, which will then be raffled off during the evening.
This unique event will also feature light food, refreshments, and a bar, allowing artists to relax and connect in a supportive, engaging environment.
