In September, Meta introduced its new streaming chatbot experience, which allows users to interact with AI bots that respond “in the style” of various celebrities. Now, the company wants to expand this initiative, allowing Instagram influencers to create their own AI bot versions of themselves, as reported by The New York Times.
“The program, which is in its early testing stages and is known as ‘Creator A.I.’, would allow influencers to chat with fans through direct messages on the social network and potentially through Instagram comments in the future, according to five people familiar with the company’s plans,” says The New York Times in its article. “The program will essentially be a chatbot that mimics the ‘voice’ of the Instagram influencer to respond to fans,” the people said.
According to The New York Times, the goal of this new initiative is to allow content creators with a large number of followers to better interact with their fans, “while reducing the amount of work required to personally respond to a large number of messages and comments.”
Meta would train these bots with the creators’ Instagram posts, their messages, their comments, and the audio from their Reels and Stories, in order to faithfully recreate their voice.
