Basking Ridge Artist Curates Creative Women’s Showcase

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A fellow artist and small business owner herself, Ilisa Zollenberg is passionate about inviting the community to celebrate women through her curated Creative Women’s Showcase at The Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster on Nov. 1.

“It is a celebration of local women artists and women small business owners. The women that are participating in the show are well-established in their fields. I am proud and humbled to have them in the show,” said Zollenberg to Patch.

The free show itself is unique.

The audience is invited to a night where they can engage with the artists and business owners in a gallery and studio-like setting. There will also be a vendor area where they will have things for sale.

The show on Nov. 1 will showcase a wide range of talented women artists from “the artist that paints on the wall to the children’s book author to the woman who started her own meatball company.”

“It’s about the incredible women that I’ve gathered to be there, and that’s what I’m so proud of. I want to give everybody a voice,” said Zollenberg.”It’s all about women empowerment and women supporting women.”

The Creative Women’s Showcase will be two events:

  • Nov. 1 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.: This will be an opening event where women artists and women business owners come together to exhibit their work and sell their merchandise.
  • Nov. 1 through Dec. 8: The artist work will be on exhibit in the gallery at The Center for Contemporary Art, 2020 Burnt Mills Road, Bedminster.

Exhibiting artists include:

“These women are incredible, and I’m so proud to be in their presence,” said Zollenberg. “It’s been humbling and inspirational and a million other things all at one time. But it’s really important to me just to present this to the community. I feel really strongly about it.”
