Behind the Business: Pop Art Studio and Boba

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Celebrating every art form is what Pop Art Studio and Boba aims to do.

“We’d like to see this space serve the community through the arts,” That’s what owner, Liyah Babayan said.

She started this art studio to carry on a legacy after a friend suffered an embolism, “To continue his legacy, his love of the arts, the creative Spirit and justice holding space for people to get together and create together here in Twin Falls.”

The studio supports the process of creating art, not just a finished product, “To come in and see artists working together, creating together, see works in progress and not only completed.”

There are also various events held at the studio,”So we have local and regional artists that are showing and featuring their work in here. Now every first Friday we host from 5:00 to 8:00. First Friday Art walk where local musicians, artists can get together here and share their art. We listen to muisc, the public comes in and supports them buys art.”

They also have various classes, like water color therapy.

One of the studio’s more curious offerings is the popular drink Boba Tea.

“There is no Boba shop downtown, so we thought that’s something that is missing down here,” Babayan explained.

They offer various different flavors, like Matcha and Horchata Boba.

The name Pop Art is a reference to bringing pop culture to the studio, “It encompasses all the different arts. So it’s music, comedy, a traditional art fashion. We just wanted to not stick to one kind of medium.”

Babayan’s goal for the studio is simple, “They learn and they find a sense of belonging through the arts.”
