Over 50 years ago Hand Goods opened its doors as a space where local artists, from potters to painters, could sell their wares.
Spacious and inviting, visitors would further discover aspects of what makes Occidental endearingly unique, and locals could pick up a special one-of-a-kind gift, leaving with it beautifully wrapped at no extra charge. Thank you Hand Goods for being such an amazing business in our town, for our town, for so many years. While the loss of Hand Goods will be felt by many for a while, their made-by-local vibe stuck (even through the ‘80s!) Occidental remains home to several boutiques & galleries who feature local artists as well as their proprietors’ creations.
