Charlette Roman will be the guest speaker at the first Calusa Garden Club meeting of the new year. Roman’s presentation, “Let’s Talk Water: An Introduction to the South Florida Water District” will take place on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Marco Island Public Library’s Rose Hall.
The public is invited to attend.
Appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve on the board of the South Florida Water Management District and as the Chair of the Big Cypress Basin Board, Roman dedicates herself every day to the mission of overseeing and protecting the water resources from Orlando to the Florida Keys. This includes flood control, water quality improvement for drinking, and the restoration of the natural ecosystem. These areas will be the focus of her presentation. Roman often connects with the community and engaging with the public is a priority. She will answer questions from the audience at the conclusion of her presentation.
