MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – November is National Native American Heritage Month and the Arts + Literature Laboratory is holding a Native Art Market to celebrate.
This will be the second year of the Native Art Market, the first being in 2023. The market will be held on Saturday, November 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The market celebrates and supports local and regional Indigenous culture and heritage. It is open and free to the public in the first floor galleries where artists demonstrations will be taking place throughout the day.
While the main market is held on Saturday, there are also workshops being held on Thursday, Friday and Sunday too.
- Thursday, November 14 – Stamped Jewelry Making from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Arts + Lit Lab.
- Friday, November 15 – Porcupine Quill Jewelry Workshop from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the third floor Education Studio.
- Saturday, November 16 – Native Art Market 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Arts + Lit Lab.
- Sunday, November 17 – Black Ash Plaited Basket workshop from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Textile Arts Center of Madison.
While the market is free to attend, the workshops do require a registration.
