City Artists’ Ram Dhun Tunes Social Media ‘likes’ | Nagpur News

Nagpur: While the Jai Shri Ram chant is already reverberating across the country ahead of the temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, three amateur artists from the city have come up with a Ram Dhun which is garnering appreciation on social media.
The Ram Dhun, a song describing the exemplary qualities of Lord Ram, has been written and sung by Rajesh Kilor, a chemist who deals in generic medicines. Manoj Rokde has composed the music while his son Yatharth too has contributed to the making of the song.
The Ram Dhun ‘Sab Sukhdayi Naam, Bolo Jai Jai Shri Jai Ram’ aims to inspires people through the compassionate character of Lord Ram. The song was released by the trustees of Ram Mandir at Ram Nagar on December 23. It has received over 4 lakh views and 32,000 likes on Facebook, 13,000 likes and over 31,000 views on YouTube so far.
Kilor, who has been instrumental in creating many songs on educational and social themes, said, “It took 15 days to get the song ready and release it.”
The amateur artist has sung and written songs on woes of farmers and pensioners, to propogate conservation of trees, Swachha Bharat, and dedicated to defence services.
Among his popular songs is ‘Signal Na Tod Mere Bhaiyya (don’t break traffic signal) appealing to citizens to follow traffic rules at busy squares.
