The Cocodrie and Acadiana Queer Collective announced they have rescheduled their Queer Holiday Art Market to 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 16 in the 700 block of downtown Lafayette.
They made the decision to move their event due to anticipated severe weather conditions, according to a news release from Cocodrie Art Market.
The release said they are committed to providing a safe, festive and fun-filled experience for all attendees and vendors.
“Rescheduling will allow everyone to enjoy the event fully, with all the amazing activities as planned,” Cocodrie Art Market said in the release. “Mark your calendars for next weekend to complete your holiday shopping while supporting local queer artists and non-queer artists alike.”
The event still will feature holiday decor, stocking stuffers and fashion accessories. The Queer Holiday Art Market also will feature free, fun family events for everyone. Here are a few things to expect at the event next weekend:
- Photos with Santa: Snap a pic with a queer-friendly Santa, guaranteed to bring some extra sparkle to your holiday memories. Santa will be at the Art Market from 5 to 7 p.m.
- Letters to Santa: Kids and adults alike are invited to write Letters to Santa at Cocodrie, located at 515 Jefferson St.
The Queer Holiday Art Market is still looking for vendors and volunteers who can register at www.cocodriecollective.com/pages/events or www.acadianaqueercollective.org.
