Beyonce entered country music with ‘Cowboy Carter’

In March 2024, the multi-Grammy award winner entered the genre of country music with the release of her ‘Cowboy Carter’ album.

Beyonce’s journey into this genre was an all-encompassing one when the album ‘Cowboy Carter’ debuted as a chart topper. However, soon afterwards, the album fell off of the charts before completely vanishing from Billboard’s Top 200.

Beyonce’s album recently reentered the charts at #195. The ‘Cowboy Carter’ album received an additional setback after not getting even one Country Music Award nomination. Even so, Beyonce got nominations for the Grammys, which included Best Country Song and Best Country Album, according to Whiskey Riff.

But, the 43-year-old singer got her first accolade inside the Country Music genre when she won at Billboard’s Music Awards of 2024.

This top honor in the country music genre arrives at the heels of Billboard naming Beyonce as the ‘Greatest Pop Star in the 21st Century’.
