AVON, Ohio — In a vibrant celebration of artistic talent and community spirit, Creative Space Avon announces the opening of its much-anticipated Creative Women 7 Art Gallery Show.
This juried exhibition showcases the diverse and dynamic works of more than 50 talented female artists from across Northern Ohio.
The show kicks off with an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. April 27, with an awards ceremony at 8 p.m. Sarah Schuster, professor of studio art and painting at Oberlin College, will preside over the event, lending her expertise to select the standout pieces of this year’s show.
The closing reception is slated for 7 to 9 p.m. May 17, offering art enthusiasts one last opportunity to experience the creative energy of the exhibit.
Additionally, the gallery will welcome visitors for public viewing from 1 to 4 p.m. May 1, 8 and 15.
As a testament to the event’s growing popularity, many artisans are returning participants.
With more than 40 gallery exhibitions curated by Judy Snook-Kean at Creative Space Avon since 2015, this year’s event promises an array of varied art media.
Snook-Kean, a professional stained glass artist since 1984, will also open her studio for visitors during the event.
This year’s show introduces two special features: a traveling art exhibit dedicated to ovarian cancer awareness, featuring artistic torsos; and a unique category for quilting, culminating in a special quilt crafted collaboratively by the participating artists.
This meaningful piece will later be donated to a battered women’s shelter, underscoring the event’s commitment to community support and awareness.
In conjunction with the art show, Creative Space Avon is hosting four special women’s health and wellness classes, focusing on yoga and meditation.
These sessions, scheduled throughout May, aim to enrich participants’ physical and mental well-being, featuring renowned instructors and unique practices such as restorative yoga, chair yoga and sound baths.
Pre-registration information for these health events is available by emailing Snook-Kean at theglassstudio@yahoo.com.
This year’s Creative Women 7 Art Gallery Show is not just an exhibition, but a holistic experience, blending art, health and community in an unforgettable showcase.
