Dead by Daylight is bringing Junji Ito’s most iconic horror characters to life.

Popular horror multiplayer game Dead by Daylight has revealed a new crossover coming to 2025, this time featuring characters created by Japanese horror icon Junji Ito.

The collaboration was featured in the game’s recent livestream, which also detailed its Doomed Course chapter.

If you’re not familiar with Junji Ito, he is a celebrated horror manga artist who has generated a substantial cult following in the years he’s been active, and is the creator of a number of iconic horror manga series like Tomie, Gyo, and Uzumaki. Junji Ito’s works focus on disturbing body horror, monstrous antagonists, and cosmic horror.

With Dead by Daylight establishing itself in the horror gaming genre, it makes sense that the game has chosen to collaborate with the king of horror manga. The Junji Ito collection will feature several characters from Junji Ito’s works: Junji Ito: Collection, and Junji Ito: Maniac, and will include two Legendary skins for The Artist and The Spirit, plus six very rare skins for both killers and survivors.

The Artist’s Legendary skin will be based on Miss Fuchi, Junji Ito’s grotesque cannibal model, while The Spirit will be based on Junji Ito’s most popular femme-fatale Tomie, complete with a second face growing out of her head! These two Legendary skins will also come with new audio to send chills down players’ spines.

The six very rare skins will be split between the survivors and the killers, namely The Trickster, The Dredge, The Twins, Yui Kimura, Yun-Jin Lee, and Kate Denson, who are all getting a Junji Ito makeover. From the looks of the reveal, Souichi, Junji Ito’s nail-eating eccentric oddball, and the strange Hikizuri siblings, will also be included.

The collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Junji Ito will launch on January 7, 2025.
